Projects

Project 1 – Black and Whiteknights [work in progress]

I work at the University of Reading, and my office is on Reading’s Whiteknights Campus, a multiple award-winning green space. My aim is to put together a series of up to twenty-four black and white photos that capture my very own, personal take on this place, its buildings, and – last and certainly not least – its population in its very essence. At present, this is work in progress.

Project 2 – Reading Gurkhas [work in progress]

An aspect of life in Reading that I always found particularly striking is the presence of a substantial Nepalese population that often gets overlooked (or so it seems to me, anyway). My aim is to put together a series of up to twenty-four black and white photos that capture members of this part of Reading’s community. At present, this is work in progress.

Project 3 – Black and White Seville, 2018 [completed]

I was fortunate enough to be able to live in Seville from September to December 2018. Seville, like all of Andalusia, is a breathtakingly beautiful, colourful part of this world: it is so beautiful, it hurts. How does this translate into black and white? Can it be captured in black and white? My aim was to put together a series of up to twenty-four black and white photos that capture the place, its beauty, its passion, and its life in a non-traditional way. This project is now completed.

Project 4 – Reading [work in progress]

Because we all should read more. My aim is to put together a series of up to twenty-four black and white photos that capture my very own, personal take on this quintessentially human activity. At present, this is work in progress.
